FERRO, Mary - Mary Ferro, 91, a lifelong resident of the local Niagara Falls community, passed away peacefully after a brief illness, on March 28, 2022. She is survived by her loving sister Norma Mazzone, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and in-laws, and was like a 'second mother' to Jeff, Peter and Marci. She was predeceased by her husband Frank 'Buck' Ferro, sister Carmel Aleo and brother Angelo Pasco (late Anne). Family was a cornerstone of her existence. Mary Ferro was a kind, loving, generous and selfless person, one of the greatest. Many lives were touched by her caring personality and positive outlook. She will be missed by her dear friend Margaret Mastria. Her support to her sister Norma, as she cared for her husband, Phil Mazzone with his health challenges, was invaluable and heartfelt. Mary found true happiness in her own life, and was always willing to share her spirit with those in her company. One was immediately drawn to her ever-present smile. Everyone could sense her infectious warmth. Mary Ferro, 'Aunt Mary' or 'Auntie' to many; loved, and was gladly present at countless family gatherings, birthdays, holidays, and celebrations. No get-together would be the same without her. Her pleasant and comforting company to others lit up a room. In her younger years, her and Buck would travel frequently, enjoying all of life’s greatest experiences in the world. Back from their travels, they would open their home and backyard swimming pool to family and friends. It’s possible she invented hosting, as her guests were always treated famously with food, drink and laughter. What amazing and immensely positive memories we have, and will never forget. Words can’t really describe how incredible she was to so many people, how many lives she touched, and how much she meant to all of us. We are eternally grateful and fortunate to have had her in our daily lives. Mary Ferro also loved to watch baseball games, cheering for the Toronto Blue Jays. She would bring great joy to the nightly ‘retired coffee club’ at Tim Hortons. She would regularly meet with her sister Norma, cousin Peter Pavone and her sister-in-law Mary Richard for weekly take-out dinners and conversation. It was an unbreakable bond of companionship in these recent tough times. She was also an active member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Many of us always said 'she didn’t have a bad bone in her body'. She was such a bright light in our world. Her journey now continues into the next world, where she will be greeted with one of her favorite sayings, 'Oh my heavens!' Our family can’t begin to fathom how much we will miss her in our world. She will always be in our daily thoughts. We love you more than words can tell. Friends are invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Mass in celebration of her life will be held Saturday at 10 am at St. Ann's Church, with the Rite of Committal to follow at Fairview Cemetery. In memory of Mary, memorial contributions may be made to St. Ann's Church. Online condolences at pattersonfuneralhome.com
