It is with profound sorrow and broken hearts, that Jason Boyer and the family announce the passing of their loved ones Nicole, Zoe and Pyper along with the family Lab Jasper, in a tragic accident on December 21, 2025.
Nicole had great “joie de vivre! Her happiest moments were punctuated by loud bursts of laughter when someone or something delighted her (i.e. her kids, her horses, dogs, or catching a fish). She loved the natural world and spent many happy hours in her large vegetable garden, walking with Jasper, hiking nearby trails or riding her horses with Pyper.
Her loving nature, zest for life, energy and sparkle drove her family life, work and leisure activities. She didn’t just live life, she was all in! Whole heart! And wow, the results were amazing. She made sure everyone knew how special they were to her with a call, a card, a specially baked cake or a jar of her homemade pickles. Family and friends basked in her warmth and vitality and thrived.
Nicole was born to Bob King (d. 2016) and Catherine Tindale in Tiny Township and in early childhood moved to Mississauga where she became the youngest member of the Heath family and started junior kindergarten. Growing up Nicole was a very important part of her three families (Heath, King and Tindale).
When the Heath family moved to St. Davids, ”destiny” brought Nicole and Jason together, in Grade 8, and they became friends. Years later, they became engaged in the St. Davids schoolyard where they first met, when Jason proposed on bended knee.
Jason and Nicole were happily married for 18 years and the births of Zoe and Pyper were the highlights of their lives together. They were devoted and loving parents who put family first. Early in their marriage they ventured to Northern Ontario wanting to be more connected to the natural world they loved and to give their children an enriched upbringing on a farm with animals, a huge vegetable garden and chores to do!! Living in the north enabled Jason and Nicole to have more time with the kids in outdoor activities year round.
Nicole had a beautiful voice and loved to dance. She followed her dreams to York University. Here she graduated with a BFA. While there, she worked part-time in data management and it was her “tech” skills that led to a career path. Nicole always had a passion for supporting humanitarian aid, so when her career path eventually took her to the Red Cross, it was not surprising. She became Coordinator - Emergency Care Profile. She helped coordinate 1600 Emergency Care Workers to be ready to deploy into the field, for Covid operations and traditional hazards like wildfires and floods. She was a loved and valued team member.
Nicole is survived by her adoring husband Jason; her parents David and Carol Heath of Toronto/Halifax, Catherine Tindale of Dryden; her siblings Eric Heath (Jacquie) of Toronto, Amy Legate (Jessie) of Halifax, Madison Piggott (Kevin) of Fort St. John B.C, Taylor David (Margaret) of Sarnia, Kevin King (Corrina) and Christopher King (Mary) both of Victoria Harbour, ON; her great-grandmothers Jeanette Geldart of Burlington and Lillian Neale of Tillsonburg; as well as Jason’s Family: his parents Jack and Judy Boyer of Niagara on the Lake, his siblings Jocelin Boyer (Renee), Jordyn Boyer (Steve), Blair Boyer, and Kelly Boyer; and his great-grandmother Ann Marie Boyer. Nicole, Zoe and Pyper are also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins who loved them dearly.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, February 21, 2026 from 11 am until 1 pm at Patterson Funeral Home, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls.
