Kenny and Brenda,

I’m at a loss for words. Hearing about Ryan’s passing hit me hard, and I still can’t believe it’s been over a year. I’ll never forget the little guy with boundless energy who lived down the street from Meaghan and me. So many of my childhood memories are tied to your home—those endless PlayStation battles, pool games in the basement, summers splashing in the pool, and all those Sundays at church with Ryan. His laughter was infectious, his love for the Boston Bruins was something else, and who could forget his personal jar of peanut butter?

He was such a loved part of our lives, and all of us in the Carter family are sending you our love and prayers.

I will always remember Ryan's visits to the library. Always a smiling face and kind words for me.  Every so often he'd come over to Stamford library,just to say hi. Miss you Buddy.

It's been a year and it's absolutely mind blowing.  Not sure if you'd be proud of me or just laugh at all the adventures and mischief I've gotten into, buuuut I know you're watching and laughing. Wish I could share the stories with you in person with a drink or 5. Saw your momma and puppers the other day on a walk. Lucy is SO big. Ugh today hits different for sure. Missing you always .

Its hard to believe it's been a year already. So much has changed. But you will always hold a special place in my life. I'll always be thankfull for having you in my life. Missing you always

I didn’t know Ryan personally, but he was known in our hockey gaming community. Lots of guys knew him well. Gaming communities are like family and we all become friends without ever meeting the people we play with. The laughs and conversations are endless. On behalf of the league he spent many hours in, we all send our thoughts with you all.

Hi, my name is James from Pittsburgh, PA and I met Ryan over a video game many years ago. What stood out to me the most about him was his sense of humor.  The man couldn’t keep me off the floor laughing. I remember days where I was in my darkest hour, and he came to my aid, he was a beautiful soul who wasn’t meant for this world and I pray you watch over me brother and all your loved ones. I love you brother. You will always be in our hearts.

I am so sorry for your loss! I knew Ryan as a kind, funny guy. He was such a sweetheart to me always! He loved his pets like he loved all animals! He will be sadly missed 😢 

I was saddened to lear of the passing of Ryan . When Tony Jamestee sent me the notice and the photograph of me giving Ryan the putter it reminded me of that moment and day. The look on his face when I gave him the putter I had won was priceless. I will always remember that moment and this fine young man. Ryan, may you Rest In Peace as you spend eternity with your Heavenly Father.

Dear Brenda and Ken:
My heart breaks for you both. You are 
wonderful parents and words just cannot express the pain I feel for you.  Everyone at Animal Medical Centre was very saddened as well. I hope Lucy will give you great comfort—I know Ryan loved her. 
I remember Ryan at church in the same classes as two of my sons—smiling, laughing, telling jokes. I love those memories of him.  
Perhaps Ron and Ryan will greet one another in heaven and have long conversations about their common love of animals. I find that thought very comforting indeed—I hope you do too.

Ryan first came to visit me at the library when he was two or three.  He was my boy right from the start, showed me his crafts he made, and couldn't wait to hear Mom read a story to him and tell Dad about Thomas the Train. During high school he'd sneak over just to say hi and show me pics of his latest pet and just say hi.

I never met Ryan in person, but him and I would play video games together often (especially hockey). It was because of him and the time he took with me, that I enjoyed the game so much. I will always hold our conversations very near to me. He was always there when I needed someone and helped me through a lot. I'm going to miss him. <3

I vividly remember the day I met Ryan.  Three of us had babies that year and you joined us for a mummy/baby afternoon, Brenda.  We were overjoyed to watch the 3 babies play and run around my living room.  Ryan had a big heart and was always looking out for the underdog.  I am so very happy to have been a small part of his life.  He will always be your son… time and distance will not change that.  Hugs and prayers for all of you.
