In loving memory Walter Mocniak 77 years. Passed away suddenly Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at his home with his friends present.
Walter, Wally to his friends and family, was a lifetime resident of Niagara Falls. He was a graduate of Stamford High School. Wally was employed at the American Can Company until its closure in 1987. He finished his working career in maintenance at the Skylon Tower.
Beloved partner of the late Jean MacLaurin (2024). Loving stepfather of Merko (Cindy), Roxann and Cindy (Greg). Cherished grandfather of Dee, Michelle, Laura, John, Kimberly, Jennifer and Tracey and 12 great grandchildren. He was the dear brother to Eddie (Winnie) Mocniak and Janina (George) Scibik, both predeceased. Adored Uncle of Christine (Andrew) Evans, Donna (Matt) Collee, Wanda (Robert) Brunet, Stephen (Christine) Mocniak, and Kathy Lostracco.
Wally was a lifetime sports enthusiast. He played hockey, baseball, fished and hunted. He passed this love of the outdoors to his family and friends. Wally played in the cribbage league for many years and enjoyed nothing better than a great hand of cards, which he usually won.
