Colleen Tynan

Colleen was born March 20,1955 in Newport Rhode Island , the daughter of the late Richard Overcash and Shirley Overcash DelPrete. She graduated from East Lyme High School and went on to work as a Central Service Technician at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital for 18 years.

She married James Tynan on July 24,1999 in Waterford. Colleens pride and joy were her 2 daughters Alissa Johnson of Niantic and Brianna Tobey of Norwich. She is survived by grandchildren Skylar, Ava and Nicolas , 3 stepchildren and 7 grand stepchildren.

To say that Colleens life was defined by her devotion to her family would be an understatement. There was nothing dearer to her than the love of her daughters and the laughter and joy felt when surrounded by her grandchildren.

Her love of her family was shared with a love of the ocean which she acquired at a very young age having been raised by the original "beach girl". Memories of McCook beach days were close to her heart.

Surviving siblings are Richard (Theresa) Overcash of Palm Bay, Fl., Russell (Maureen ) Overcash of Niantic and Sherleen (Scott) Hanson of Niantic.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 10:30am in St. Agnes Church in Niantic. Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00pm with a service to be held at 7:00pm in Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 13 Lake Ave., Niantic, CT 06357.
