

Mrs. Novick was born on June 9, 1916 in New York City, the daughter of Joseph and Francesca (Vallente) Rubino.
She married Nick Novick on February 9, 1947, in New York City. Mr. Novick died on February 27, 1988. She is survived by her son Nick Novick, Jr. of Ashland, MA and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Novick was predeceased by her two brothers, James and Frank Rubino.
Josephine had been a resident of Niantic for 57 years and worked as a seamstress at the former Bedge Mfg Co. of New London and the former Hermitage Hospital Products Co. of Niantic. She was a very active member of the Niantic Senior Center and a communicant of St. Agnes Church.
Living independently, she remained active until her death enjoying gardening and crocheting. She made many beautiful afghans for friends, family and charitable events.
Josephine was a warm, vibrant, loving mother and aunt and friend to many. Her spirit, kindness and generosity will long be remembered by all those she touched. Josephine will be dearly missed.
The funeral procession will assemble on Thursday at 9am at Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 13 Lake Ave., Niantic and will proceed to a 10am Mass of Christian Burial in St. Agnes Church, 22 Haigh Ave., Niantic. Burial will be private.
