Adele Gourgues (Sporer) passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at the age of 95 years. Beloved wife of the late Elmore L. Gourgues, Jr. and by second marriage to C.F. Sporer. Mother of Choyer Parker (Steven), Lylin Gourgues (Janice), Denise Hulsey (Lewis “Corkey” Mazer, III) and step-mother of Victor Gourgues (Judy Webb). Grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Daughter of the late Ellen Ducoing Pfalzgraf and Charles P. Pfalzgraf Sr., she is also preceded by her siblings Charles P. Pfalzgraf, Jr., Frederick Pfalzgraf, Evelyn Henson, Romain Deffes and Shirley McClain.
She was a retired school teacher of St. Charles Public Schools, a former Girl Scout leader, former C.C.D. teacher of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, also a member of the Hahnville Lions Club, Member of the St. Charles Women’s Club, plus a charter member of the Good Tyme Campers.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the visitation at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hahnville on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 9AM. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11AM with burial to follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Taft.
