Arnold “Big Arnold” Scherer, age 56, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2012 at his residence after a long illness. He was a veteran with the United States Navy. A native of New Orleans, he has lived in St. Charles Parish for the 13 years.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Silvestri Scherer. Two children; Arnold “Little Arnold” Silvestri, Jr. and Melissa Scherer Combs. Two grandchildren; Brenden Silvestri and Jordan Combs. Five siblings, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Ivan Scherer and Inez Brockoff.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at H. C. Alexander Funeral Home in Norco from 4:00 pm until 5:00 pm. Memorial Services will be held at 5:00 pm from the funeral home with Fr. Terry Becnel officiating.
