

Clayton Joseph Perkins, a resident of Destrehan, died on Sunday, May 15, 2016, at the age of 89. He was born on December 10, 1926, in Donner, Louisiana, to Wallace Ulysse Perkins and Norine Bernadette Bergeron. He was a graduate of Warren Easton High School, attended the University of New Orleans, and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Navy. He was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 04030, a member of La Societe des 40 Hommes et 8 Chevaux Voiture Locale #1522, a member of American Legion Post #195 and a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 3634. He was preceded by his beloved wife of 56 years Ramona Maxion Perkins. He was the brother of Roberta Ranson; father of Rhonda Perkins and Cara Perkins Nunez; grandfather of Holly L. May, Charles J. Nunez, Jr., Cristin Nunez Cortez and Caitlin M. Wilbert; and great-grandfather of David S. Wilbert, Camille L. Cortez and Ellie L. Nunez. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Charles Borromeo in Destrehan, LA on May 18, 2016 at Noon. Burial to follow with military honors. Condolences may be expressed at www.HCAlexanderFuneralHome.com.
