Donna Poche Ruiz, born August 27, 1958, passed away February 19, 2018. She is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Laurent P. “LJ” Ruiz Jr., and beloved daughter Rachael Ruiz Currier and her husband, Evan. She is also survived by her brother, Cary James Poche and his wife, Maureen. She is preceded in death by her father, Clay Joseph Poche and her mother, Lesa Schexnaydre Poche.
Donna was active in her sorority, Alpha Sigma Tau, Southeastern University chapter, and kept in touch with many of her sorority sisters. She will be remembered as being a selfless person who always put others before herself. Her family always came first and we will be truly missed by all who were blessed to know her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 13396 River Rd. Destrehan, LA, on Thursday, February 22, 2018 beginning at 9:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM with burial to follow in the church mausoleum. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in her name to Susan G. Komen.
