Earline Margaret Hotard of LaPlace, LA ran the race well and finished it peacefully on September 30, 2021 at the age of 84. She was born on January 30, 1937 to Earl J. Hernandez of Belle Alliance, LA and Camille “Tuta” Heigle of New Orleans, LA.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Charles Joseph Hernandez, her daughter, Debbie Tompkins, and husband, George Hotard.
She is survived by her children, Earline Duplessis (Gary), Diane Louque (the late Alvin), and John Vizcaino III, her siblings, Earl Hernandez (the late Joyce), Jacob Hernandez, and Nancy Anderson (Ronnie), 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and one more on the way. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Earline was a member of Lifehouse Church and that was where you could find her every Sunday morning dancing and twirling before the Lord. Earline was very devout in her faith in Jesus Christ and it was her number one mission in life to love and to serve Him well. She never met a stranger and always had a warm “how ya doin’ honey?” for anyone who crossed her path. She made sure to tell anyone she met about what Christ had done for her so that they may also have eternal life.
She had many hobbies, a few of which were collecting beautiful angel figurines, taking care of her little poodle, Snowy, whom she adored, shopping on QVC and keeping up with the latest fashions, and spending time with her loved ones.
Earline loved and was loved by many and she will be greatly missed, but we take comfort that she is with her Savior dancing on the streets of gold!
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. Metairie, LA. Visitation will be held from 12 PM – 1:30 PM with a prayer service to begin at 1:30 PM. Interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in St. Rose.
