Liz was born on June 11, 1968, in Houma, LA and she brought light and warmth to everyone she met. She married the love of her life, Jim Chandler, in 1998 and they built a beautiful life based on faith, family and kindness. Liz is the devoted mother of their daughter Allie Chandler, whom she adores!
Liz is preceded in death by her father Jimmy Savoie, maternal grandparents Millie and Clifford Ecuyer and sister-in-law Heather Savoie. She is survived by her mother Sandra Savoie, aunt Pam Ecuyer (Ardell Fink), husband Jim Chandler, daughter Allie Chandler, brother Michael Savoie, brother-in-law Bobby Chandler (Donna), sister-in-law Kim Chandler Brown (Ross) and nieces and nephews Elyse Savoie and Ella Savoie, Nicholas Ecuyer, Brooke Chandler Cosby (Sam) and Brett Chandler (Lauren), Kaylie Brown and Lindsey Brown, all of whom brought great joy to her life.
Liz graduated in 1986 from Vandebilt Catholic High in Houma, LA and in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts, Cum Laude, degree in Marketing from Loyola University New Orleans.
She started working at a young age in the family restaurant in Houma, Savoie’s Louisiana Cooking. After graduating from Loyola, she began a successful career in the insurance industry as Senior Claims Adjuster, first with St Paul Fire and Marine and then with Travelers Insurance. In 2007, Liz made a career shift to become stay at home Mom to daughter Allie, which is a decision that she cherished! She served on several PTO groups at Allie’s schools and as a teacher’s assistant with the St Charles Borromeo Church CCD program.
Liz loved cooking, going to the theater, movies, plays and concerts. She enjoyed socializing with family and friends, she always lit up the room, and she never met a stranger. She was proud of her 31 years of continuous sobriety and the opportunities it gave her to carry the message of hope to countless other women. It provided the foundation for her life well lived, and the lifelong friendships made on that journey were joys of her life!
We would like to invite family and friends to St. Charles Borromeo Church, 13396 River Rd. Destrehan, LA on Friday December 12, 2025. Visitation will begin at 9:30am and a Memorial Mass will follow at 11:30am. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery in New Orleans, LA immediately following the services.
