Ms. Helen is survived by her daughters, Karen L. Schexnaydre of Houma and Cheryl S. Tam (David) of Harvey. She is also survived by her sons, Kevin Schexnaydre of Destrehan, Bruce Schexnaydre of Metairie, Mark Schexnaydre of Norco, and Brian Schexnaydre (Cherie) of Gonzales. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Adam and Jacob Schexnaydre and Tegan Tam, and many nieces and nephews.
Ms. Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Roland Schexnaydre; her parents Joseph and Marie Ferteau Dixon; her sisters, Mary Dixon Schultz and Aldia (Jean) Dixon Gicas LaComfora; her brothers, Frances, Robert, Joseph, and Arthur Dixon.
Ms. Helen was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother with an easy going temperament and a beautiful smile. She was playfully known as “Thunder” a nickname given to her by her brother-in-law to complement her sister-in-law who he nicknamed “Lightning.”
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 13396 River Rd. Destrehan, LA, beginning at 10AM. Mass will be held at 11AM with burial to follow in the church mausoleum.
