She was the beloved wife of the late Huey L. Schexnaydre of New Sarpy, LA and the late Emerson Lyle Kitchens of Albertville, AL; daughter of the late Earl and Audrey Landeche of New Sarpy, LA; mother of the late Eric A. Schexnaydre (Toni) of New Sarpy, LA, Nathan J. Schexnaydre (Kim) of Destrehan, LA, and Randall J. Schexnaydre (Sonya) of McCall Creek, MS.
Janet is survived by her children; her grandchildren Eric A. Schexnaydre, Jr. (Barbara), Blake S. Schexnaydre, Kyle A. Schexnaydre (Raelyn), Baylee R. Schexnaydre (Nathan), Colette M. Schexnaydre (Floyd), Nathan J. Schexnaydre, Jr. (Mandy), Julianne Mason (Cliff), Cassidy Mainiero (Jacob), Dylan Schexnaydre (Sera), Benson Schexnaydre, Nathen Christa, and Jade Farrell (John); and her great-grandchildren Mandy Schexnaydre, Karley Schexnaydre, Leah Schexnaydre, Hannah Morlas, Reese Taste, Lillian Schexnaydre, Khloe Schexnaydre, Kory Schexnaydre, Emmett Mason, Tucker Mason, and Landry Mainiero.
Janet was a seamstress for most of her life and was the owner of The New Sewing Concepts in Harahan, LA for years where she taught sewing lessons and sold fabric and notions. Her passion was creating and sewing quilts, many of which she made for family and friends. She and her friend Thomas Ann sewed quilts and donated them to The Child Advocacy Center for children who are the victims of abuse. Janet was an avid fan of both LSU baseball and football. She was particularly passionate about LSU football, never missing a game and was known for possessing more knowledge about it than many of her male counterparts. She was a parishioner of St. James Catholic Church in Magnolia, MS. Janet will be missed by all who knew her.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 26, 2022 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 13396 River Rd. Destrehan, LA. Visitation will be held from 9AM – 11AM with a funeral Mass to begin at 11AM. Interment will follow at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery.
