Sylvia Palmisano Petitfils on Wednesday, March 29, 2017. Devoted wife of Lyle Petitfils for the past 45 years. Mother of Jason Petitfils (Lisa) of Gonzales, Brad Petitfils of New Orleans, and Stephanie Petitfils Murillo (Jorge) of Saint Rose. Doting Nana of Estella and Scarlett Murillo. Sylvia was the fourth child of Salvatore “Sam” Palmisano and Alice Maye Chiasson Palmisano. She was the sister of Alice Palmisano Gruntz (late Alphonse) of Saint Rose, John Palmisano (Chris) of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, and Mary Rosalie Palmisano Lovetro (Charles) of Houston, Texas. Beloved godmother of Tammi Lovetro Sturm and Jacob Sturm of Houston, Texas. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and a large extended family. Known affectionately as “Mama Syl” by over two dozen young people that she helped to raise, Sylvia was a well-known and loved fixture of the Saint Rose community. She will be greatly missed. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to visitation and Mass on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 9:30AM to 11AM at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 13396 River Rd, Destrehan, LA 70047.
