Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Joseph Shedler, and grandson, Peter Joseph Frangella. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Patricia Cambre Shedler, two children, Michelle Frangella (Carmine) and Billy Shedler, grandchildren, Camryn, Calie, and Cara Frangella, Jessica Donaldson (Sidney), Amber Lutz (Matthew), Brittany O’Quinn, and Jarrett Frangella (Noelle), great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who knew him as “Uncle Bill”. He is also survived by sisters, Pat Peregrim and Sue Rachko (Joe).
Bill was born on October 30, 1937 near Old Forge, Pennsylvania, and after graduating from Old Forge High School, he served in the Air Force for four years, moved south, and eventually moved to St. Rose, Louisiana, where he lived for over 56 years. After retiring from Delta Airlines, Bill worked as a school bus driver for St. Charles Parish Public Schools, where he retired again after 22 Years. He loved the New Orleans Saints, taking care of his plants, bird watching in his backyard, taking pictures of his family, showing off his photo albums, and making people laugh. Known as “Popsy” to his granddaughters, he loved chauffeuring them around and spoiling them rotten.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 1908 Short St, Kenner, LA. Visitation will be held from 10AM – 11AM with a memorial Mass to begin at 11AM.
