

Anthony Michael "Tony" Venturino, age 61, passed away August 2, 2009 at his home after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Tony was a member of Diamond Springs Baptist Church, former employee of the Chesapeake Expressway, and had served honorably with the United States Navy in the capacity of a cook for several years. He loved to help others and did so as a former Boy Scout Leader. Over the years Tony loved many things that included the Philadelphia Eagles football, their baseball and hockey teams, not to mention he liked watching Tiger Woods play golf. He also loved to go camping and fishing with family and friends. After finishing high school he attended and graduate from baking school. He was predeceased by his father, Anthony Venturino, his two stepfathers, Francis G. Hancock and Albert Fedorka and his brother, Ronald K. Venturino. Surviving are his loving wife, Virginia T. Hazard Venturino, two stepsons, Edwin A. and Roger T. Hazard both of Rhode Island; a step daughter, Pamela R. Whiteside of London, England; his mother, Ellen Hancock, Virginia Beach; a brother, Albert Fedorka of Virginia Beach; a sister, Deborah R. Tomlin and her husband, Paul of Woodlynne, New Jersey. Four step grandchildren, Reia and Rachel Whiteside, Austin Hazard and Nathan Pegg;one niece and two nephews and a very special close friend, Randall Whiteside. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM in the Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd. and where a celebration service for Tony’s life will be conducted by Rev. Warren Skinner, Jr. at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 8th in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
