During the peaceful hours of early morning, Saturday, September 17, 2016, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and uncle was gently summoned from a long mortal life of work and service to eternal rest and everlasting glory.
Bernard John (BJ) Hughes, Sr. was born November 21, 1929 in Norfolk County, VA, to the late John T. & Katie Hughes.
Bernard is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Sandria Hughes; four sons, Adrian, Donte, Bernard Jr., & Darrell; one daughter, Yvette; and one nephew Colonius.
A visitation will be held on Thurs., 9/22, 6-8PM. A funeral service will be on Fri., 9/23 at 11AM, both will be at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk, VA 23502.
