Bessie Frances Johnson, 82 passed away on October 14, 2008 at Bay Point Medical Rehabilitation Center. Bessie was a member of the Living Waters Church of God and a faithful member of the Women's Willing Workers - Ladies Ministries and former Sunday School Teacher Also, she was a former clerk and Sunday School Superintendant of the Benson Church of God in Benson, NC.
Surviving are her loving husband of 59 years Kirby E. Johnson and her children Kirby L. Johnson, Sr. and wife Sandy of Chesapeake Virginia. Garry L. Johnson and wife Louise of Selma, North Carolina, and Linda Gail Koester and husband Donald of Chesapeake, Virginia. Cherishing her wonderful memory are her 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and her sister Mary Horton of Coats, North Carolina.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 pm Friday at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. Her funeral service will be held Saturday at 1pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
