Raised in the Berkley area of Norfolk, he served as an Officer in the Merchant Marines during World War II. Following his military career, he retired from Home Beneficial Life Insurance Company after 33 years. Kibby then continued as a successful Real Estate Developer, he truly was a self-made man.

Miller of 66 years, daughter Linda Parker and Husband Michael Parker, sons Wayne Miller and Mark Miller, grandchildren and spouses, Kimberly Solis (Brian), Chris Parker (Jennifer), Sara Evans (Phillip), Amanda Allinder, John Michael Miller, and Ashley Miller, and 7 great grandchildren.
He was compassionate, generous, and left a mark on each life he touched. With an acute sense of humor, he always had a way of making people laugh. To those who truly knew Kibby, he was quietly benevolent, but he loved his family above all else.
The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice for the comfort they provided him in his final weeks. A graveside service is scheduled for Friday Morning, July 19, 2013 at 10:00am, at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in his memory.
