Carl L. Fleming

Carl L. “Buddy” Fleming, 94 passed away May 24, 2017 peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born and raised in St. Joseph, MO to the late Carl and Rose Fleming. Buddy proudly served his country for 30 years actively during three wars in the US Navy, retiring as an AMCS. Buddy was a member of Colonial Heights Church of Christ and Willoughby Chapel. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years Leora Alice “Pete” and his brother George.

Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters; Regina Underwood (Bill) and Colette Hill (Richard), three sons; George (Lorene), Carl, and Danny (Suzy), nine grandchildren; Billy, Chris, Nicholas and Brandon Underwood, Rachel Hill, Kerrie, Carl, Dan, and Lacy Fleming and four great grandchildren; Kaleb, Madi, Chloe and Hannah Underwood, and sister, Betty Lou Park.

Buddy’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, VA. The visitation will be Tuesday night from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please make a memorial contribution to Willoughby Chapel or Colonial Heights Church of Christ in his name.
