
Rev. Dallas H. Plemmons, born January 21, 1930, in Asheville, NC, graduated from this life in death April 23, 2010, in Virginia Beach, VA. Son of Denmar Plemmons and Essie Rich who both preceded him in death. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Zonie S. Plemmons; his daughter Nancy P. Craig her husband Larry and their two sons Larry and Ian Craig; his sisters Kay Lewis, Sharon Bruce and Delores Scott and his brother Dennis Rich. He served in the U.S. Army Infantry during the Korean War. He was the sole survivor of three massacres and was captured by the enemy. He escaped and made his way back to the U.S. lines. After discharge from the Army, Dallas Plemmons attended Southeastern Seminary at Wake Forest and was ordained to the Gospel Ministry. He served initially as a Pastor, became an Evangelist/Missionary, established a worldwide Evangelical Outreach and ministered in the U.S.A. and a total of 53 countries. He also supported orphans and native missionaries in Haiti, India, Romania, Peru, Jamaica and Ghana, Africa. The family invites family and friends to a visitation at the home of Dallas and Zonie on Sunday, April 25th between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM. The service for Celebration of Life will be Tuesday, April 27th at 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Funeral Home with burial to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Family visitaion will also be available at the funeral home between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM before the service on the 27th. Rev. Wally Odum will be officiating assisted by Chaplain D. R. Staton. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to continue the work he has started to Dallas Plemmons Ministries, P.O. Box 2213, Virginia Beach, VA 23450. His family and the Board of Directors will be continuing the ministry.
