I'm so very sorry about Dave. I enjoyed working with him, even though he was pretty quiet. :relaxed: Every now and then we would have a conversation but they were few and far between, so when they happened, they were special. Felt that if we spoke longer than two minutes, it was something! That's how I learned about his wife and his kids, and where'd he'd worked before Harris Teeter. Work hasn't been the same since he got sick, and it definitely won't be the same now that he is gone. There was always a glimmer of hope that he'd get better and at least come visit. :blush: We will all miss him a great deal. And I'm sorry I can't be at the service tonight but my whole family is sick. I regret that very much. My condolences to the whole family and may you always have good memories of him.

I am so sorry for your loss.  Dave and I were  '73 classmates, competitive sports team mate and a guy with a sunny disposition and smile.  As team mates in high school and then business associates later in life it was always great to stop, take a break and catch up on whatever was going on in our lives.  Fond memories will always be evoked when I think of Dave.

Prayers and fond memories are what we have to remember Dave in his early departure. May the love of family and friends comfort you during these difficult days, our/my most heartfelt condolences. We are very sorry for your loss. Coaching with Dave is one of the fondest memories I have from NAS little league. He was a great guy. We are praying for your family.

I wish to extend my sincere condolences to Dave's family on their loss. I met Dave in my many weekly visits to Harris Teeter. The minute I walked in the front door I'd look to the right and i knew immediately when looking at the entire produce dept if he was working or had worked on the early shift. His work ethic was incredible, old school and since we are about the same age we always knew we were taught to " do it right the first time or don't bother doing it at all"! We'd briefly say hello, talk politics, world situations, kids and grand children. He always brightened my day and he always made me laugh.That store is like a family to me and I try to meet and speak with all staff by name(.My husband calls me the "queen of HT as he's always says he can't believe how many people I know there" ) I'm a nurse and Dave once in a while would ask me for advice on health issues, happy to help where I could. Sometimes when we lose someone we love we may never have to opportunity to know how many lives they have touched in their daily interactions with people. It's really  a gift I believe because we often don't see them through the same lens as others do. Your father often spoke with pride and love of all of his family and I wanted to let you know how grateful I feel because in his small way he touched my life too. He will not be forgotten and every time I walk in that store I will look to the right, smile, and say " Hi Dave, you're not forgotten. Rest in peace".
