Virginia Beach ~ On Sept 8, 1917, God blessed George Ulrich and Katherine Deery Hauser with the birth of Donald George Hauser. Don and his two sisters, Jeanette and Sylvia enjoyed their youth in Delaware Water Gap, PA. Don had great memories such as being the team captain for his high school football team. In 1941 Don joined the Navy just in time to be stationed on the battleship USS Pennsylvania on that fateful day in Pearl Harbor. For the next 30 years Don served his country retiring with the rank of Lt. Commander. As of Dec 24, 2008, Don is survived by the love of his life, Bertie Mae Baines Hauser after 56 years of the most wonderful marriage and their much loved son, Paul Donald Hauser (Sandra) and beautiful granddaughter, Kelsey Lynn Hauser. Services will be held on 1 pm Saturday, Dec 27 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with full Military Honors provided by the United States Navy.
