Estella R Ordonio, 84 of Jacksonville, FL, formerly from Virginia Beach, passed away peacefully, on January 5, 2019, surrounded by family in her daughter’s home in Chesapeake, VA. She was born on May 15, 1934 in Bani, Pangasinan, Philippines. She lived a full and adventurous life first as a Navy wife and mother raising 5 children in various ports around the world while her husband was on 9 month deployments. Her adventuresome spirit continued when she later joined her husband to help build a successful career at American National Insurance Company as an insurance agent. This gave them an opportunity to again travel extensively in the States and abroad as bonuses for qualifying sales quotas. Estella will be remembered as a gracious hostess and friend to all who cooked the “best Pancit, Pakbet and Dinuguan” ever eaten. Always quick to tell a funny story, she held a captive audience with her family and friends. Most importantly, she will be remembered as a loving wife of 51 years, mom, grandma, Lalai and “GiGi”. She was predeceased by her husband Alfredo A Ordonio and two sons, Joseph and Alfredo R Ordonio. She is survived by her brother Profirio Raquipiso (Necy), her daughter, Jane R Baum (Richard), son, David R Ordonio (Denise), daughter, Mary O Trosien (Dave) and son Robert R Ordonio (Gemma). She is also survived by 12 grand-children, Steve McCullough, Melanie McCullough, Jennifer McGee, Jason Ordonio, Elizabeth Maxey, David K Ordonio, Katherine Joseph, Bobby A Ordonio, Anthony Ordonio, Kristen Ordonio, Anna Ordonio, and Hannah Trosien; 15 great grand-children and many nephews and nieces.
A visitation will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk, Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held in the funeral chapel on the following day, January 13, 2019 at 10:00 AM with Interment to follow.
A Memorial service and Mass is planned on January 19, 2019 at 10:30 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 5752 Blanding BLVD, Jacksonville, FL 32244. Reception to follow at Orange Buffet 475 Blanding BLVD, Orange Park.
