Evelyn Leigh Cudworth Rigdon

Evelyn Leigh Cudworth Rigdon, 68 passed away August 7, 2012. She was born July 27, 1944 in Norfolk, VA. to the late George Cudworth and Ann Fink Caudle. Evelyn is survived by her husband Eugene Rigdon, and her daughter Leigh Ann Aultice husband Alan and their two sons Nathan and Jacob of Bedford, VA. and her son Brad Rigdon wife Jessica and their daughter Makenzie of Chesapeake, VA. Also, Nickey (Coggie) Rigdon wife Julie of Chesapeake, VA. and his son Nicholas, Tracy Rigdon wife Shelley of Chesapeake, VA. and their sons Trey, Timmy, and Tanner. Donna Boyd husband David of Virginia Beach, VA and her son Shawn, and by the late Terry Bradley. Surviving Terry are her husband Billy of Routherfordton, NC and her children Billy Ray, Travis, Dawn, and Jessica. She is also survived by her sister Jeanette Shallis of Norfolk, VA and her brother George D. Cudworth III of Dallas, TX.

Evelyn was a graduate Pineland College in Salemburg, NC. She married the love of her life Gene Rigdon, and they spent 42 wonderful years together raising their children, fixing up their dream home, and working on the property. Together they started two successful corporations, Coastal Truck Repair and Coastal Tanks, of which Evelyn retired as chief financial officer after 20 years.

Evelyn enjoyed traveling, especially to Las Vegas. She cared for her mother Ann during her battle with Alzheimer’s, and fought a courageous battle with lung cancer. The family will receive friends from 5pm-7pm Thursday, Aug. 9 to celebrate Evelyn’s life at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd. Norfolk.
