Frances Gosney

Frances Gosney-Rosser made the journey to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 27, 2016. Frances was born in Danville, VA. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star 131. She was a past member of Ocean View and Landsdale Baptist Church. She was a stay-at-home Mom who was often volunteered by all of her daughters for many school and church activities.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Cortez Rosser; the Love of her life, George Harold Gosney; her daughters, Linda Carol and Frances Lee; her grandchildren, John Harold and Diana Lynn; great-grandchild, Chris, Jr.; brothers, James and Ralph Owen; sister, Thelma Register; and son-in-law, Jay Brickhouse.

She leaves to cherish her memory Barbara and Herb Ritter, Betty and Bill Maxwell, Beverly Brickhouse and Larry Bolin; her 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and sister Nancy Lee Foltz. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. A special thank you to the staff at Commonwealth Memory Care Norfolk, who loved and cared for Frances for the past 2 years, and to Becky Benzie with Interim Hospice for comforting her the last two months.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norview Chapel with burial to follow at Princess Anne Memorial Park.
