
F. L. “Mick” Hackett, 89, passed away July 1, 2008, surrounded by his family. He was retired from the United States Navy and the U.S. Post Office. Mick was an active member of Christ the King Catholic Church and Moose Lodge 39.
Mick leaves his loving wife, Joan Marie Hackett and his eight children: Pat Murray and husband Bill of Texas; Debbie Jones and husband Craig of Dumfries, VA; John Hackett and Tim Carr of Arlington, VA; Terry Taylor and husband Bill of LA; Joni Hodges and husband Tony of OK; Kathleen Wilson of Richmond, VA; Jimmy Hackett and wife Peggy of Chesapeake, VA; and Betsy Millhorn and husband Tom of Texas. Mick is also survived by twelve grandchildren, one great grandchild and his sister, Dorothy Fannin of OH.
In a celebration of Mick’s life, Father Brian Rafferty will officiate a Mass at 3:00 PM, Monday, July 7, 2008 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1803 Columbia Ave, Norfolk.
The family will receive friends from 3-5 PM on Sunday, July 6 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk. The Prayer service will begin at 3 PM.
