George P. Allen, 95, went home to be with the Lord on October 4, 2018.He was born in Montserrat on October 19, 1922 to the late Joseph and Phoebe Allen. George was retired auto mechanic and worked for many years in public transportation in New York. George loved landscaping, traveling, playing croquet and playing the organ while his daughter played the piano. He was a member of Suburban Christian Church and loved reading his bible. George was preceded in death by his daughter, Idaddie on October 4, 1994, exactly 24 years to his date of passing.
Left to cherish George’s memory are: his loving wife of 17 years, Louise, step children: Marvin Flowers, Thomas Flowers, Theresa Flowers and many other family members and friends.
Georges funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 11 AM at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, VA 23502. His wake will be at 10 AM the same day. Please visit www.woodlawngroup.com to share a memory with the family.
