

Grace Juanita Hyatt, 91, passed away on February 15, 2024. Grace was born in Georgia to the late Clinton and Thelma Ansley Waller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Kenneth Harold Hyatt MD, her brothers Johnny, Everett, and Bruce Waller, and her sister, Jean Cartledge, all of Georgia. She is survived by her sister Rachel Truitt, also of Georgia. Grace graduated as a Registered Nurse from a nursing school in Georgia where she met her future husband. She enjoyed gardening and always maintained the most beautiful garden in the neighborhood. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed camaraderie with her friends. Grace was a faithful Christian and was actively involved with her church throughout her life. A little play at the slots always brought a smile to her face.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Karen Gladden; sons, Jim (Cindy) and Gary (Mary); grandchildren, Ken Hyatt (Suriena), Adam Hyatt, Christopher Gladden (Valerie), Melissa Grace Brown (Braden); great-granddaughter, Coraleena Grace Hyatt; and a host of other family and friends.
The family invites you to a time of visitation on Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk. She will be privately laid to rest beside her husband in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens following the visitation.
