Harold C. Young, Sr., affectionately known as "H.C.", 87, of Virginia Beach passed away early Sunday morning, May 16, 2010. He was born in Jacksboro County, TN and lived at the same residence in Virginia Beach for over 40 years. He proudly served in the U. S. Navy and retired as a Chief Petty Officer, Parachute Rigger. H.C. was prececeded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Elizabeth, in April 2009. He is survived by his sons; Harold, Jr. and his wife Kathleen, Jerry and his wife Karen, and a daughter Sandy and her husband Doug Bell.
H.C. will also be dearly missed by his grandchildren; Rebecca Stevenson, Melissa Myers, Douglas Bell Jr., Jerry Young Jr., Theresa Bock and Lisa Young, as well as his great-grandchildren; Alexis Stevenson, Megan Myers, Brendan Bell, Jonathan Bock, Nathan Young, Josiah Young and Alexis Young.
In honor of H.C., a visitation will be Wed 6-8 pm May 19, 2010 at Woodlawn Funeral Home 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 1:00 PM . Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
