Iris H. Wenger

Iris Howell Wenger, 92, passed away in Virginia Beach surrounded by her family and loved ones. Iris was born in Mooresville, North Carolina to the late Everette and Susie Elliott. She was also predeceased by her husband Donald “Don” Wenger, siblings, Peggy Helms, Hubert Elliott and Jake Elliott. Iris was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She prioritized her life based on her family’s needs. She loved cooking but most of she enjoyed spending time with them in her spare time. She is cherished in memory by her two children, Debbie Langford and her son, Robert “Bob” Johnson; grandchildren, Brian Sawyer and Wiley Langford and his wife, Taylor; great grandchildren, Travis, Breanne, Caleb, and Jason. She leaves behind her niece who was like a daughter to her, Brenda Fawcett (Gary). Iris is cherished in memory by her other significant family members and friends as well.

There will be a graveside service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens at 1pm, Friday, September 9, 2022. There will be a visitation from 11am to 12:30pm before the graveside service to fellowship with the family at Woodlawn Funeral Home.
