James L. Grubbs, Sr. 82 passed away February 7, 2010. He was born in North Carolina to his parents Emmett and Lucille Grubbs. He was predeceased by his loving wife Josephine Grubbs. He was a retired Senoir Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy in which his professional service spanned 23 years. He was the Operations Manager for the operations dept, and engineering dept. of the cultural facilities for the City of Norfolk. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Lucille Nelson of Wisconsin; his son James L. Grubbs, Jr. of Norfolk, VA.; and one grandson Brent Nelson of Wisconsin and many other relatives and friends. A visitation will be held Friday from 6 pm to 8 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home and a service will be held Saturday at 2:00 pm Woodlawn Funeral Home 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk.
