

James (Jim) Booth, Sr., 74, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2013. He was born February 24, 1939 in Ontario, Canada to the late Rupert and Elsie Booth. Jim retired after 22 years of service from the U.S. Navy as a Master Chief, Boiler Technician. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve. Jim was an active member of First Baptist Church Norfolk where he was a Pre-School Sunday School teacher and a member of the choir.
Jim is survived by his wife Mary Booth; sons James Booth, Jr. and wife Felecia and David Booth and wife Christy; daughters Julie Paspas and Sheri Eller and husband Gregory; brother William Booth and wife Jan; sisters Joyce Razee and husband Dale and Lois Miller and husband Dannie; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 4, from 6-8pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd. Norfolk. A service will take place Thursday, Sept. 5, at 1pm at First Baptist Church Norfolk, 312 Kempsville Rd. Norfolk. Burial will follow at 3pm in Albert G. Horton Cemetery, with full military honors.
