

James "Jim" Sullivan, 75, passed away in peace at home with his family. He was born born in Jamaica, Queens, New York. Jim was the son of the late Marion Catherine Scanlon Sullivan. He was predeceased by his beloved sister, Patricia Maureen Sizemore; brothers-in-law, Danny Sizemore, Michael and Brian McSally; mother-in-law, Anne Marie McSally; niece, Catherine Sizemore; and nephew, Kevin Sizemore.
Jim served his country with honor and courage. He was a Marine Combat Vietnam Veteran.
A cook by trade but so much more interesting vocations. Jim cared for and cooked for hundreds of children along side his wife at they're Tiny Tikes home day care for 20 years. Jim cooked for several restaurants including SmackWater Jacks where he and Kathleen met many lifelong friends. His last “Retired” job was working in the cafeteria at Renaissance Academy where he found great friends and enjoyed being the “Lunch King”.
Jim was a biker who loved the wind in his face. He holds on to a pillow a friend gave him that was inscribed “You Never See a Motorcycle Parked Outside of a Psychiatrist’s Office." Riding was his therapy. When he was asked by members of bike clubs to join them, he said “No Thanks, I joined a club once, the Marines and they sent my A** to sunny Southeast Asia." Jim did have many brothers who rode with him. “A good friend knows all your best stories; A Biker Friend Has Lived Them All with You” .
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Kathleen; son, Brian Sullivan (Lori); father-in-law "Dad", Raymond McSally; brothers-in-law, Tim McSally (Clare) and Kevin McSally; nephews and nieces, James Sizemore (Jill), Melanie Herring (David), Dawn Sizemore, Steve McSally (Tiffany), and Crystal McSally; several loved grand nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Aidan Shell, Ava Shell, Maggie (Apex) Sullivan, and Johnathan Wayne Sullivan; cousins, Patti, Shelia, Eileen, Tim, Brian, Christopher and Doreen; many great friends; and Brothers not by Blood but by Choice, Dave, Ronnie and Hutch.
A memorial Mass for Jim will be held at Saint Nicholas Catholic Church, 712 Little Neck Road, Virginia Beach on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 11:00 am. Internment will follow at the columbarium in front of the church.
