

Jean Jackson Wallace, 84, wife of the late Nianza E. Wallace, and a resident of Virginia Beach, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 8, 2014. Born in Princess Anne County, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Anderson L. Jackson and the late Maude Lee Jackson. She was also pre-deceased by her daughter, Daralyn Hope Parker, and her son, Ralph Lyndon Wallace.
Jean is survived by two sons, Nianza E. Wallace II (Christine) of Virginia Beach, and C. LaSalle Wallace, also of Virginia Beach; a brother, Harold L. Jackson (Anne) of Kentucky; a sister, Anne Lee Jackson (Durwood Perkins) of Virginia Beach; seven grandchildren: Lee B. Parker III, V. Leigh Kovacs, Catherine M. Wallace, Clare E. Wallace, Audrey Wallace Kneut (Eric), Lindsay G. Wallace, Lyndon A. Wallace; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Jean had worked for more than 52 years for the School Board and City of Virginia Beach. Jean was also a 50 year member of Kempsville Baptist Church. A special thank you is due to Anne Lee Jackson who provided for Jean’s daily care since she retired.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 11, 2014, at 11:00 am, at Woodlawn Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Carlton officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Family will join friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home.
While flowers are accepted, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Relay for Life.
