

John Edward Wagner, 85, passed away on January 3, 2011 in his home. He was born on June 28, 1925 in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of the late John F. and Margaret C. Wagner. John was an Eagle Scout, valedictorian of Cecil High School in PA and graduated in 1946 from Brown University. He served his country as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict receiving a Bronze Star Medal with Combat V. John was the Vice President of Hasler and Company retiring with 36 years of service and was a member of the Moose and VFW.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 40 years, Virginia L. Wagner of Norfolk; brother, James L. Wagner of Wichita, KS; nephew John E. Wagner of AL and niece, Barbara Tabor of Norfolk.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 5, 2011 from 7:00 – 8:00 PM in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk, Chapel, 818 Norview Avenue. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2011 in the funeral home. Burial will be private.
