- 89, passed away at home peacefully on Sunday May 31, 2015 surrounded by family, after his battle with Alzheimers. He was united with his Heavenly Father and his beloved wife of 52 years Dorothy and Step-Son Daniel Betor II. He was born in Union Grove AL, January 18, 1926 to the late John and Marie Maynard. A retiree of the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, VA with 31 dedicated years of service; Johnie was an Electrician General Foreman in Shop 51. He is survived and will be dearly missed by Daughters Dianne Busby, Husband Donald Busby Sr., and Gina Maynard. Grandchildren, Donald Busby Jr., Danielle Gilbert-Cottle, Mike Betor, Daniel Betor III, nine Great Grandchildren, extended family and friends. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 4 at 11 AM at Woodlawn Funeral Home, burial will follow immediately in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
