

Judith Virginia Bruce, 70, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014 at her residence. Judith was born in Newton, MA of the late Norbert Brady and Virginia Brady Reilly, Norbert was in the battle of USS Samuel B. Roberts in the final battle of Leyte Gulf in October 1944. She was raised in Woonsocket, RI, by her stepdad, Leonard Reilly and moved to Virginia in 1961. Leonard Reilly, was also a WWII veteran, in the battle of Leyte Gulf. Other predeceased members are In-laws Donald R., and Helen Bruce; Donald R. was a Pearl Harbor survivor as well; brother, Dennis Reilly and sister, Patrice Reilly and brother-in law Phillip Bruce.
She was an Electronics Technician throughout her life with various government contractors. She worked at the Book Exchange at Wards Corner after retirement. Judy was a unique lady and touched everyone’s heart. She spent a lot of time tracking and doing Genealogy of the Brady, Young and Reilly families. She also loved doing crafty things and trying new recipes. She loved the springtime and being in her yard, she also loved fishing, books, her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Donald Robert Bruce of 45 years; daughters, Kathleen Crews of Norfolk, Lorraine McGraw of Chesapeake, Debra and Patrick Manley of Va. Beach, Sons, Daniel and Sue Bruner of Lansing, MI, Danny and Paula Bruce of Salisbury, MD and Matthew Bruce of Salisbury, MD. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
She is also survived by siblings, Maureen Reilly Kesslen of Norfolk, Va, Danny and Maxine Reilly of Chesapeake, Va, Kevin and Jean Reilly of Chesapeake, Va., Helen “Peggy” Reilly of Norfolk, Va. Other survivors include nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins throughout New England.
A visitation will be held from 1 to 3pm, Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Smith and Williams Norfolk Chapel. A funeral service will begin at 3pm with burial at a later date. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.smithandwilliamsnorfolk.com.
Donald Robert Bruce, 75, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2014 at his residence. He was predeceased by his wife of 45 years Judith V. Bruce January 25, 2014. Donald was born in San Diego, CA of the late Donald E and Helen Bruce. He was also predeceased by his wife’s father and mother Leonard and Virginia Reilly. One brother Phillip Bruce.
Donald was a veteran of the USAF and USN as an Aviation Technician. He spent the rest of his life as an electronics Technician. Don enjoyed making and flying model airplanes, Hamm radio, fishing and golf throughout his life.
He is survived by his daughters, Kathleen Crews of Norfolk, Lorraine McGraw of Chesapeake, Debra and Patrick Manley of Va. Beach, Sons, Daniel and Sue Bruner of Lansing, MI, Danny and Paula Bruce of Salisbury, MD, Matthew Bruce of Salisbury, MD and Robert Bruce Stephens of Ivor, Va. Nine grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren
There will be a combined committal service to lay them to rest on May 17th, 2014 at Forrest Lawn cemetery at 1:00 pm. Family and friends are welcomed to join the family in the celebration of life of our parents for a cookout and games after services.
