June M. Calhoun

June M. Calhoun, 85, wife of the late Ralph Lee Calhoun, Sr., passed away at her son’s residence in Portsmouth on Sunday, July 20, 2014. Born on September 23, 1928 in Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late Myron Franklin Spring, Sr. and the late Bernice Holland Spring. She was a native of Norfolk and lived in Smithfield for over 20 years.

She is survived by four children, Sharon L. Rainey and her husband Edward of Courtland, Va., Ralph Calhoun, Jr. and his wife Sally of Suffolk, Va., Richard Calhoun of Portsmouth, Va., and Randy Calhoun and his wife Susan of Portsmouth; three brothers, Marvin Spring of Suffolk, Myron Spring of Chesapeake, Tommy Spring of Chesapeake; and a sister, Mollie Page of Virginia Beach; five grandchildren, Ashley, Cory, Ryan, Whitney, Marshall and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E Virginia Beach, Blvd., Norfolk, VA 23502. The interment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Family will join friends one hour prior to the service.
