

Justo Finones Manglicmot ("J"), of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025 at the age of 89. He was born August 19, 1935 in San Felipe, Zambales, Philippine Islands. Growing up there, his family survived the Japanese occupation during World War II. In 1953 he followed in his father's footsteps and joined the U.S. Navy, where he served for 30 years retiring as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. He then continued his service to his nation as a Federal employee, and subsequently retiring again over fifty years of Federal service. He married his childhood sweetheart, Salvacion Guerrero, in 1960. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences in 1989 at St. Leo College in Norfolk, VA.
Justo was actively involved in the Filipino-American community in Hampton Roads. He both participated and lead such organizations as the Zambales Association of Tidewater, the United Ilocano Association of Tidewater (U.I.A.T.), the Fil-Am Veterans of Hampton Roads (FAVHR), the Sigmans Fraternity and Knights of Rizal, among many others. Justo was also active with the Virginia Beach, Adopt-A-Highway program the Khedive Temple, Scottish Rite and with the Masonic Lodge #296.
Justo was preceded in death by his father, Teodoro Manglicmot; mother, Roberta Manglicmot; grand-daughter, Megan Watts; and sister, Lolita Ugalde.
Justo is survived by his loving wife, Salvacion Manglicmot; children Alan Manglicmot, Joy Watts (son-in-law Charles "Ted" Watts) and Mark Manglicmot; grandchildren Christian Watts and Savannah Manglicmot; brother, Juan Manglicmot; and sister, Ligaya Manglicmot.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial celebration of life at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, VA on Wednesday, May 21 and Thursday, May 22, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. The Funeral Service, will be on Friday, May 23, at 11:00am with full military honors at Woodlawn Funeral Home.
