

Linda F. Thompson “MeMaw”, 74, went to be with the Lord on August 21,2018. She was born in Selma, NC on February 1, 1945 to the late Russel and Ruby Simons. She was a Supervisor for Stewart Sandwiches and retired with 29 years of service. Linda adored her family and always put them first. So after retiring from Stewart Sandwiches she began her second career. That of a stay at home Grandma, which she truly loved. She loved going to the movies and playing cards. Although Linda was unable to attend church in her later years, she was still able to worship the Lord at home. Linda was a kind, generous and all-around good women, who loved all and was loved by everyone who met her.
Left to cherish Linda’s memory are: her loving husband of 57 years, Rayford Lee Thompson Sr., who she married at the age of 16, daughters: Kathy German (Johnny), Ruby Thompson and Pam Michin (John), son, Ray Thompson Jr., sister, Trudy Davenport, brother, David Taylor, 8 grandchildren: Bobby German, Megan German, Megan Bunch, Marissa Sweeney, Anna Harris, Melinda Thompson, Stephanie Michin and Rachel Michin and 5 great grandchildren: Tyler Bunch, Schuyler Bunch, Miranda Guzman, Caleb Harris and AvaRae Harris. She was preceded in death by her brother Bobby Taylor, sister, Shirley Allen and grandson, Andrew Scott Thompson.
Linda’s life will be celebrated on Wednesday, August, 29, 2018 at 11 AM at Woodlawn Funeral Home, with Pastor Charles Pearson officiating. Her visitation will be Tuesday night from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Please visit www.woodlawngroup.com to share a memory with the family.
