

Lois Arlene Smith Harris joyfully ran into the arms of her savior on August 8, 2025. Lois who was affectionately know as Fearless by her late husband Dick was born on March 14, 1932 in Norfolk, VA to Charles F. Smith and Lola Mae McNeal. She may have been small in stature but she loved big.
Lois attended school in Norfolk, VA where she grew up. She met the love of her Life Isaiah Harris and they married on January 16, 1954. Raising her children and making a home for her family were her greatest treasure.
Lois was a member of Chesterfield Heights Methodist (Heritage United Methodist) Church for many years where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. Lois is a Past Worthy Matron for Norview Chapter #131, Order of the Eastern Star (which is now know as Elizabeth Chapter OES) as well as a member of Berkley Chapter #52. Lois was a volunteer at DePaul Hospital and Chesapeake Regional Hospital. Some of her most enjoyable times were spent Square Dancing and Round Dancing with the Thalia Thumper's and the Easy Steppers Round Dance Club
MeMaw, as she was affectionately known to all, was a devoted Mom, Grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who loved fiercely. Cooking was her love language. She was thrilled when all her family were around her dining table for a big meal she had spent hours preparing. However her dinners were not complete without her famous Banana Pudding.
Lois was predeceased by her husband of 55 years Isaiah Harris (Dick); and her brothers Charles and Marvin Smith; her sisters, Myrtle Smeraldo and Ruth Funk.
Lois leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Teddy Harris (Jan) of Portsmouth; her daughter, Arlene (Alan) of Chesapeake; grandchildren, Brandon Harris, Megan Lee (John), Melissa Taylor, Jennifer LeMay and Dianna Stocker (Zach); great-grandchildren, Jackson, Abigale, Evelyn, Ty, Haley, Hayden, Hunter, Parker, Zoey and Kyle; as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family is inviting friends to pay respects on Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 1pm-2pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd. Norfolk VA. In honor of Lois, a funeral service will follow the visitation beginning at 2pm with Pastor Jay Baines officiating. She will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.The family will host continued fellowship and a reception to follow the graveside committal in the funeral homes reception facility.
