Lorraine A. "Rainy" Martin

Lorraine Anna “Rainy” Martin, 82, passed away August 1, 2018. She was born in Newark, NJ, to the late Stanley and Anna Zawacki. She attended St. Pius X Catholic Church, The Red Hat Society, Moose Lodge, Polish Club and Oceanview Senior Center. Rainy participated in the Senior Olympics and received numerous awards and medals that she wore proudly. She volunteered for numerous causes and loved traveling and spending time knitting, crocheting, gardening, watching the Miami Dolphins, O.D.U. and VA Tech football. Most of all she enjoyed a fine glass of wine with family and friends. Rainy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, William H. Martin Sr., sons: William H. Martin Jr., Wayne H. Martin and Mark S. Martin and her sister Joan Zawacki.

Rainy is survived by three children: Michele Martin and her fiance` Michael Ward of Virginia Beach, Glenn Martin of Suffolk, VA, Lisa Martin of Norfolk, VA, a daughter in law, Michele Kirk of Springfield, VA, brother; Stanley Zawacki, 7 grandchildren, Brad, Ray, William, Glenn Jr., Crista, Nicole and Jeffrey Jr.; 5 great grandchildren, Kameron, Skylar, Grayson, River and Paisley; and extended family and dear friends.
