Lucy Belle MacMillan, 95, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at home with her family by her side. She had been a native of Virginia Beach for many years. Born in Forsyth, NC in 1920 to the late Rufus Henry Sapp and Nannie Lee King. She was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters, her son, James (Jimmy) Reece, and 3 grandchildren, Wesley Golden, Angela Morgan, and Lenny Moser.
Left to cherish her memory are 2 sons; Harvey Dale Reece (Phyllis) and Ray MacMillan (Reene); 3 daughters, Mary Lou Dickey (Bob), Jean Knoten, and Brenda Jennette; 16 grandchildren, a total of 46 great and great greatgrandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.
She is a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. In 95 years she touched a multitude of people. A spicy, humorous woman, always making people laugh, cooking and crafting for others.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 18th, 6-8p at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk, VA 23502. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 19th, 2pm at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 717 Whitehurst Landing Rd., VA Beach, VA 23464.
