Marian K. Bass,86, of Chesapeake, Va. passed away on Sept 29th after a valiant battle with Cancer at home under hospice care.
Marian was born on May 8th,1935 to Richard and Isabelle Spencer in Elizabeth City, NC.
Marian loved fashion and was a driven professional in the industry representing some of fashion's great companies starting with Saks 5th Avenue in New York City, Miller and Rhoads, Hecht's, Macy's and being a Representative for Liz Claiborne and Jones of New York before she retired.
Marian was such a loving mother and wife as she valued her family and faith out of everything in life and always had a happy-go-lucky attitude that was easy to fall in love with as she was always smiling and welcoming to anyone she met. She loved music and playing the piano and of course dancing to Frank Sinatra records in the living room with her loving husband. She loved anything chocolate and any romantic movies and nothing would get her more excited than to watch all of the awards shows to see what all of the actors and actresses would wear on those red carpets and her favorite show Dancing With The Stars.
Marian is preceded in death by her beloved husband of close to 50 years, Lonza Clarence Bass, Jr. who she called "Honey Man" or LC.
Marian is survived by her devoted son, Clarence Christopher Bass who had been her caretaker for the rest of her life after Lonza's passing in 1996. Being Marian's caretaker took on a much bigger meaning once she was placed on home Hospice Care battling a stage 5 tumor in her stomach and dementia and she fought it every step of the way with a positive attitude and surrounded by love and her faith in Jesus Christ who she devoted her life to and anyone who came in contact with her always had her thanking them and praying for their families and well being.
Marian is also survived by a loving daughter, Robin K. Bass
Marian had requested to be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date to bury her next to her beloved husband at Woodlawn.
The family would like to thank all of the great service and care given by Personal Touch Hospice Care and Woodlawn Funeral Services.
