

Morris “Dolly” Miller, 82, passed away in Virginia Beach on June 3, 2012. Born January 11, 1930, he was a lifelong resident of Norfolk. He was the youngest child of the late Joseph and Fannie Miller. He grew up in Berkley and attended Maury High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked for Home Beneficial Life Insurance, where his productivity as a sales agent was rewarded with numerous convention trips. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marian; daughter Karen Armstrong and husband Armie; son Gary Miller and wife Nancy; and grandchildren John Armstrong, Blake Miller, and Kyle Miller. He is also survived by brothers Frank Miller and Calvin Miller, and sister Mildred Fine, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Sam Miller, Simon Miller, Junius Miller, and sister, Yetta Furman. He was a member of the Metropolitan Music Club. He was a devoted and beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd. Norfolk. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 8, in the Woodlawn chapel with interment following in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Southeastern Virginia Chapter Office, 6350 Center Drive, Suite 102, Norfolk VA, 23502.
