

Ollie Eugene Wilkins, Jr., born August 22, 1923 in Norfolk, VA; lived a full and amazing life until he passed on to be with his Heavenly Father August 31, 2012. He was a devoted husband of 60 years to his wife Loretta Jane Wilkins.
He was full of cherished memories, successful endeavors, and loving family and friends. He was blessed with two sons and their wives, Terry and Charlotte Wilkins and Mark and Sharon Wilkins, both residing in Chesapeake, VA.
Among those who will cherish his memory are his four grandchildren which were the joy of his life: Jerry, Stephanie, Jenny, and Morgan. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Ollie was preceded in death by two sisters, Zane Martell and Eugina Wilkins White Everett.
Ollie bravely served in the U.S. Army in WWII as a Paratrooper in the 101st Airborne. After his service he graduated from Maury High School with the Veterans Class. Mr. Wilkins was also a proud and active member of the Masons and was Past Master of the Owens Lodge #164, longtime member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Legion 199, and the V.F.W Post 4809. Ollie enjoyed life, grandchildren, ballroom dancing every weekend with close friends; but most important, the time he spent wife “the love of my life”. Ollie, doc, dad, pop, grandpa, uncle bubba, Worshipful Ollie, you will be deeply missed.
Today, Ollie is enjoying his eternal life with his family and friends who passed before him and is blessed to be in the presence of his Heavenly Father. His family takes comfort knowing that his life is not over, rather continuing in a better place.
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm – 2:30pm, Monday, September 3, 2012 with a funeral to begin at 2:30pm at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel.
