

Patrick Lee Lybarger died September 19th, 2014 at home in Norfolk, VA. He was 64. Born August 24, 1950 in Shelby, Ohio, he was the son of the late James A. Lybarger and Agnes Fry Rudd. He graduated in 1968 from Shelby High School and went on to serve in the United States Marine Corp. during the Viet Nam War from June 1968 – March 1970 followed by his service in the United States Navy from October 1977 – January 1984.
His career in electronics began in the Marine Corp. and spanned over 40 years and took him across the country and overseas with former employers Superior Engineering, Eastern Computers, American Communications, SEMCOR of Chesapeake, Bazon-Cox ending with General Dynamics in 2012.
He was a Virginia state charter member of the Viet Nam Vets Legacy Vets Motorcycle Club and was with the club nearly 30 years. The club members are all veterans that have served, or are currently serving our country. They ride in honor of our wounded warriors and in memory of those that have given the ultimate sacrifice while never forgetting the mission of bringing home our POW/MIA's. His life's passions were God, family and club. He was also a life member of Ocean View VFW post 3160 in Norfolk, VA.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Joanna Lieck Lybarger and their daughter, Apryl Raye Nanney and husband Jeffery Dean, his daughter Honore Arsenault, husband Joseph and his grandson Zigmund, mother-in-law Cynthia Lieck his brother Michael Lybarger and wife Kimberly, his sister Jill Potter and husband Michael, his sister-in-law Carol Lieck Witherow and husband Gary and his many nieces, nephews and their families.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, October 11th at Woodlawn Funeral Home Crematory and Memorial Gardens 6329 E. Virginia Beach, VA 23502. Condolences may be offered to the family online at www.woodlawngroup.com.
