Roney S. Rogers, 72, of Virginia Beach Virgina went to be with the Lord on Dec 18, 2017. Roney was born in Brunswick County, Virginia on March 15, 1945. He attended the University of Richmond and graduated from MCV School of Pharmacy in 1968. He worked as a pharmacist with Norfolk General and Sentara Leigh Hospitals and upon retirement, started Prescription Cut Lawn Service. In his leisure time, Roney enjoyed playing golf, fishing, hunting and gardening. He also enjoyed cooking and preparing meals for his family and special friends.
Roney is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mildred (Millie) Rogers, daughter Sarah Palmer and her husband Brian, granddaughter Laine, grandson Drew, and his mother Edna Lamorelle. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in law, and a host of friends.
Roney was a member of Faith in the Word Church in which he was the active secretary/treasurer and attended a Wednesday morning Bible study.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Woodlawn Funeral Home located at 6329 Virginia Beach Boulevard, Norfolk, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Disabled American Veterans or a charity of their choice.
